New! – Gel-form activator

Like the liquid act-Cor rust activator, this gel-based product is intended for rusting metal and Corten steel surfaces. The gel is green and fairly thick in texture, which makes surface application easier to manage and control. It is highly recommended for vertical surfaces — ceilings, walls, steep planes and hard-to-reach places in general (the applied gel does not run and stays put exactly where the rust effect is wanted).

The product can also be used to “re-rust” items and to create textures on the surface. Additional coats build on top of one another, so the piece needs a longer drying time than usual. The gel can be applied with a spatula, roller or brush (as preferred), producing a stronger rust-creation effect. Unique finishes and patterns are easily created this way. The gel can also re-rust surfaces that had rusted before, giving them a lighter tone. With act-Cor gel you can achieve the desired orange colour (the colour of primary oxidation), which is usually very hard to obtain due to factors such as humidity, unremoved scale, sheet thickness and so on — even after using the liquid act-Cor activator.

Another property of this product: the resulting rust layer smears far less than on surfaces treated with the act-Cor spray liquid. Even when the gel is left unfixed with the bp-Cor product, the piece will smudge less.

VERY IMPORTANT: the storage and application temperature of this product is 10–25°C. Outside this range the product may liquefy. Please read the product’s technical description carefully to make sure you use it accurately and safely.
