Lawn edging with a folded rim

This is a modular lawn-edge system for regular, long-lasting lines. Bolted plates join the segments cleanly and reliably; the joints stay hidden under the ground and are easy to maintain. The bottom fold with cut-outs works as an anchor strip: spikes are driven through it quickly, so the edging stays stable and precise. Before installation, prepare a straight ground base — this gives a precise edge and fewer corrections later. World practice also recommends sinking part of the profile (often ~1/3 of the height) for stability. Corten steel forms a protective patina over time, so maintenance is minimal and the tone keeps improving. You can choose straight or radius segments and the top-edge stiffness (0/1/2 folds) so the solution matches your project exactly.

Installation

1. Prepare the base. Mark the line (string/hose), level and compact the base.

2. Make the recess. Dig a furrow so part of the profile is sunk (~1/3 of the height) — for greater stability.

3. Lay out the segments. Adjust the height so the top aligns with the plane of the planned surface.

4. Bolt together. Align the joining plates and tighten the bolts — the joints will remain under the ground.

5. Anchor. Insert spikes through the bottom-fold cut-outs and drive them into the ground.

6. Backfill and compact. Fill the ground/surfacing layers on both sides of the edging, check straightness and the edge.

How does this system differ from plain sheet edgings?

You gain the option of a top edge (1 or 2 folds).

How deep should the edging be sunk?

We recommend sinking about a third of the height. This increases stability and reduces possible “wandering” of the line.

Can radii be formed?

Yes. We can produce radius segments to your drawing or specified radius.

Will the joints be visible?

No. The bolt plates sit below the top edge, so after installation the joints are hidden under the ground.

Is it suitable for a robotic mower?

Yes, if the top is flush with the turf. The blades will then clear the edge.

Do you supply the spikes and bolts?

Can it be installed next to pavers or concrete?
