A sculptural Corten steel bowl creates a calm, horizontally gleaming water surface — an accent piece for the garden and a natural bird bath and drinking spot. Fill it with water and you have a living, minimalist water mirror (a reflection of the sky in your own yard). Outdoors, Corten steel develops a protective patina coating that shields the metal from further corrosion and extends the structure’s life. Wide range of uses: yards, modern and natural gardens, terraces, public spaces — wherever a calm plane of water is wanted without engineering worries. A water mirror soothes and arrests the gaze. It balances the geometry of hard surfaces and ties the garden into a single whole.

Features and benefits

  • Sculptural aesthetics that highlight reflections of sky and greenery.
  • Ready to use. Fill with water and enjoy — no extra equipment.
  • Long-lasting outdoors. The patina forms a protective layer and increases resistance.
  • Wildlife-friendly. The shallow water is comfortable for birds to land and refresh themselves.
  • Low maintenance. Just change the water periodically and wipe off sediment.
  • Wide application: yards, terraces, roof gardens and public spaces.

Installation and care

  • We recommend placing the bowl stably; it can be dug slightly into the ground. That way it stands level and is safe to enjoy.
  • During frosts we recommend draining the water (in areas with hard frosts) so ice does not create stresses.
  • Once a month, change the water and rinse the bowl lightly with clean water or a mild detergent.

Frequently asked questions

Does Corten steel rust?

Yes. A patina forms on the surface which halts deep corrosion and protects the metal.

How do I look after the water?

Change it more often in warm weather. Wipe off sediment with a soft sponge. Avoid chemicals if you want to attract birds.

What about winter?

Drain the water in autumn. The bowl can be left outside empty.

Is it safe for birds and pets?

The water is shallow and the rim is smooth. Always use clean water without additives.

Can I add plants or candles?

Yes. Floating plants and candles work well. Don’t overdo it, so the water stays clean.

How do I prepare the base?

Choose a level spot. Gravel, stone or a solid slab work best.
