Expanded Corten steel mesh in facade cladding

Expanded Corten steel mesh is a rational choice for many interior and exterior elements: facades, barriers, fences, furniture, railings and more. Thanks to its strength, light weight, good transparency and simple installation, this mesh is a material much loved by architects.

Corten steel suits this kind of facade cladding perfectly: it is a weathering structural steel whose properties rival stainless steel. With its evolving, rich orange colour it looks exceptionally distinctive and stylish. It can be used outdoors without any protection, where the surface is constantly exposed to changing weather. As the surface repeatedly wets and dries, a protective patina layer forms. Put simply, the steel is allowed to rust — and the rust becomes its protective coating.

For such facades we usually use 1 mm–2 mm steel. In each case the thickness is chosen individually, depending on the sheet sizes and the selected fixing method.
