The buvette stands in the centre of Kulautuva on Akacijų Alley, next to the Kulautuva rehabilitation hospital, a branch of the LSMU Kaunas Clinics. It is built above a mineral spring whose water visitors can drink.
The buvette was conceived as more than a building: the architect wanted it to be both a resting place and a community space — to drink the water, sit down to read or share books. The interior opens onto a pine forest view, making the space feel open and cosy.
The construction posed real challenges: planning how to manufacture and transport the large Corten steel parts, which serve as both cladding and load-bearing structure. Their size required special transport and lifting equipment, and during installation the parts were joined into a single seamless structure with no visible fixings.
Today the buvette is one of the town's landmarks, open all year round, its surroundings arranged for everyone — with benches and bicycle racks convenient for residents and guests alike.
